New Vauxhall Ampera
We are pleased to announce the detailed Pricing and Specification for Ampera, due on-the-road Spring 2012.
Ampera establishes a new direction for Vauxhall in alternative propulsion, with its clean surfaces and a sporting, imposing stance. The front of the car, dominated by the boomerang headlight and indicator design,
deep lower grille and Griffin design sitting within proud winged-chrome fins. Front and Rear Parking Sensors feature within the front and rear bumpers, with the rear reflectors sitting within the vertical rear aerodynamic
dam either side of the central reversing-light and fog-light cluster.
With 100% Electric-drive, Ampera is offered in an ”automatic” transmission with Electronic Ratio Select. The Lithium-Ion Battery provides Ampera with a range of up to 50 miles before the range-extending petrol engine kicks
in to generate further electricity to allow the customer to drive in the same way as any other Vauxhall vehicle. The only difference is how the customer ”refuels” their Ampera, they Plug-In to recharge the battery and refuel
the 35 litre petrol tank. With an EU Combined Fuel-efficiency figure of 235mpg and CO2 27g/km, Ampera certainly demands further attention.
Ampera Models
At launch two Ampera model specifications available in MY12, the Positiv and the Electron.
Both vehicles are driven by the same powertrain, have the identical efficiency and only differ in their internal specification.
MY13 will see the introduction of a third Ampera specification. We plan to offer a cloth trimmed version, although we will announce full detail closer to the time of order availability.
